ELDDS rehearsals and emergency meeting
5:22 pm
Please DO NOT ASK me if there is ELDDS or not in the future. You should know that unless stated otherwise there are regular Friday practises every Friday!!! All absences must be covered with a MC or an AM note and don't think you can escape with just an AM note... if you are not where you are suppose to be... Ms Tang has spies....hahahawwwaaahahaa..... a little humour here... but the message remains clear. It is very saddening and frustrating when you ask if your CCA is still on as if it is an ad hoc hobby or something. It really shows your attitude towards ELDDS.
btw. please welcome Ms Natasha to the wacky family
EMERGENCY MEETING ON
TUES after national day celebrations!! ATTENDENCE IS COMPULSORY! SHOULDN'T TAKE LONGER THAN ABOUT 15 MIN. MEET IN ART ROOM!!!

THE SHOW
Remember a time when Singapore was forever Malaya?
Or when it was forever Temasek?
Fresh from acclaimed presentations in London, Bangkok,
Brussels and Jakarta, two independent events combine
specially for the Singapore Theatre Festival in a
provocative double-bill about the origins and orang of
our proud Republic. Reaching back into both ancient
and recent history, they ask: how good is your
National Language? And who did you say founded this
place?
Part One, National Language Class, springs from an
iconic 1959 painting of Chinese students learning
Malay. As a language lesson unfolds, power is used and
abused in humorous, inventive and, finally, explosive
ways - and that applies to the audience, too!
Part Two, Utama: Every Name in History is I, swaps the
night school lesson for a lecture-demonstration of
dubious authority. Watch and wonder as a gripping and
bizarre tale unfolds of discovery and disappointment,
Merlions and mangroves, princes and paintings - a tale
that lies at the hidden heart of a place very much
like the one you live in today.
So come along to National Language Class/Utama for a
taste of National Education like you've never had
before. But which nation? And whose?
Performed by:
Nur Effendy Ibrahim and Yeo Yann Yann (National
Language Class)
Ho Tzu Nyen (Utama)
Directed by:
Paul Rae (National Language Class)
Ho Tzu Nyen (Utama)

surtitles.

History
We are the
Drama group from
Kranji Secondary School,
K Productions Drama Team (KPDT). We started off as
Kranji’s
English Literary Drama and Debate Society (ELDDS) in 2002 but merged with the school’s
AVA/PA Club in
2008 to form
K Productions. Now, we are known as K Productions Drama Team while the AVA/PA Club is known as K
Productions Technical Team. We have over 50 members from Secondary One to Four and we are trained every week by a
professional trainer,
Mr Fita Helmi and our very own school teacher,
Ms Geraldine Tang, who is a Speech and
Drama teacher.
Aims & Objectives
Our aim is to provide our members with an all-rounded education in theatre skills.
K Productions Drama Team provides a holistic approach to Drama education. Not only do we train the students
on
acting, we ensure that our members are exposed to
all aspects of theatre, including
script writing and
even
production management. Our club members also learn about
lighting and sound, essential elements
needed for a possible and successful performance. Students are also taught to
direct their own plays.
For example, during our recent October double-bill, the play Over The Wall was directed by our very own
K Productions Drama Team member who was
guided by our trainer. Our students are strongly
encouraged to
create their own play which allows them to
stretch their creativity and leadership to the maximum and most
importantly,
work as a team. Through excursions and annual camps, we expose our students to different
components of drama. Our CCA also hopes to create an opportunity for our pupils to relax and engage one
another in a
creative English speaking environment. We are always on the look out for students
passionate
about the Arts.
